Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPIA) is the Data Protection Law for South Africa which was enacted into law on 1st July 2020. PoPIA has a set of conditions for lawful processing of Personal Information to help protect privacy which is a constitutional right. Non-compliance can result in serious consequences such as fines, bad media exposure (damage to reputation) or even jail time.
This workshop will provide participants with an overview of PoPIA and an understanding of all aspects of the Act.
